Description: Winslow Homer (1836-1910) American landscape, marine and genre painter was also one of the great illustrators during the Civil War. We offer an excellent two-page letter in his hand and signed, to the author of a biography of him, in which he states: "I can only say that I hope that I have achieved all this greatness. If I have not, I will." Archivally matted with an image from one of his most famous wood engravings, "Snap the Whip." Condition: This document should be considered in very good condition.
