Hamilton Irving Marlatt Oil Painting: Impressive oil and gouache on heavy pasteboard by noted American landscape artist Hamilton Irving Marlatt (1867-1929). Marlatt worked in Rochester and Mt. Vernon, New York, as well as California. The mountainous Western landscape seems to have been a favorite of his. Signed "H.I. Marlatt" lower left and dated 1914. Board is 28" x 22" plus what appears to be its original frame, 32" x 26." Condition: There are a few minor scuffs, nicks, and stains, especially to the left of the highest peak, but generally quite displayable. |
