An early 20th c. floor model cast iron and mahogany dictionary stand with its original label: “The Columbia Dictionary Stand manufactured by Josiah Anstice & Co. Inc. Rochester, NY”. It is fully adjustable with multiple winged set screws and has a nickel(?)-plated shaft that sits on ornately cast spider legs with castors. Approximately 40” high.
Condition: There is a little surface rust on the shaft and a few nicks to the original black painted surface, otherwise in surprisingly good condition for a utilitarian object
