Description: A powerful statement sculpted by James Earle Fraser (of Buffalo nickel fame). This is a 12 3/4" x 10" cast iron plaque with a profile portrait of Teddy Roosevelt and the quote: "Aggressive fighting for the Right is the Noblest Sport the World Affords." It is signed upper right: "Fraser 1920." Original paper label still affixed to verso notes that the Decorative Arts League reserves the rights to this image. Condition: Original painted finish has a few losses, but overall quite presentable. |
