Size: 4to. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Previous owner's name in ink on front flyleaf. Volume III only. Gilt stamped black leather and black pebbled cloth over boards, raised bands on spine, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt in good condition, other edges marbled, frontispiece portrait of the Editor, pages 1001-1568, illustrated with engraved portraits, comes with a type written Index to Volume 3 laid in loose. Leather rubbed, bumped at corners with some damage at top back corner, wear at other three corners, a few pages have the bottom corner turned up a little, hinges reinforced. portraits in very nice condition.
