This conservatory was part of Robert B. Woodward’s “Woodward’s Gardens”, a combination amusement park, museum, art gallery, zoo and aquarium that operated between 1866 and 1891 in San Francisco. The image showcases a fountain directly beneath the dome of Woodward’s conservatory. Tall decorated urns, draping vines, and the glass walls of the building provide an enchanting background for the photo.

Condition: Inked identification, small edge chip to emulsion upper right, otherwise in very good condition with excellent contrast and resolution.
