This copy is signed by Duncan Phillips and Augustus Vincent Tack on the front free end paper. Gilt-stamped navy cloth over boards, (x), 112 pages plus 144 plates. Augustus Vincent Tack (1870-1949) was an American painter of portraits, landscapes and abstractions. Around 1914, his work attracted the notice of Washington DC art collector and critic Duncan Phillips, who became his close friend and chief patron. Phillips and Tack also collaborated on the organization of the Allied War Salon of 1918. Covers scratched and worn, especially at corners and spine ends, front hinge cracked, still attached.
