Description: An excellent Black Forest walnut carving of an owl with glass eyes. Head is hinged and lifts to reveal a fitted brass, glass and leather locking ink bottle. Leather glued to base has manuscript inscription: "W.E. Snow, Jr. Christmas 1874 from Your Boys Henry, Herman, Charles". Overall 4½" high. Condition: A few old nicks to one ear, otherwise very good. |
