Description: Noted publisher of almanacs, Andrew Beers in this letter seeks to import several nautical almanacs. Letter is written on the front free endpaper of an 1813 nautical almanac. He addresses the letter to a firm at the corner of Wall Street and Broadway in New York City: "I am informed you are often importing books from London, I ask you the favor, the next time you find, that you would get for me the Nautical Almanak for the years 1817, 1818, 1819. . ." Andrew Beers migrated to Albany, New York in 1797. Beers soon became the favorite calculator for almanacs in Albany, Poughkeepsie, and Cooperstown." 8 3/4" x 5 1/2".
